Trojan Band and Guard

The New Castle Chrysler High School Trojan Marching Band "TMB" is the largest of all of the performing groups in the Music Department with around 101 Members (not counting the band aides that will help manipulate the props at the back of the field).  This year the TMB will be competing in Class B again.

The TMB enjoys a rich history of success dating back to 1974 and progressing through today.  In 1979 the TMB changed venues from "track" style shows to "field" shows and soon joined the Indiana State School Music Association or I.S.S.M.A. and began its road of progress to extreme complex programming of music and drill.

The TMB has performed in such events as MACY's Thanksgiving Parades, 500 Festival Parades and has traveled to California, New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and the 4 year cycle of Walt Disney World's Magic Music Days where the band gets to relax and enjoy the parks of Disney World and perform at the SpectroMagic Parade, a night time parade with the illuminated floats and characters of the Disney park Magic Kingdom.

Some of our accomplishments include:
2002 ISSMA Award; 2003 ISSMA All-Music Award; 2004 ISSMA All-Music Award; 2005 ISSMA All-Music Award

During the 2003-04 season Debbie, and her brother, Brad, along with the help of their assistants, had two winter guards competing in the IHSCGA.  The High School Guard made up of  7th-12th graders, and the all new Riley Project which was made up of 4th-6th graders.

Then for the 2004-05 season they branched out and had four guards on the competitive circuit:  the High School Guard (still 7th-12th graders), the Riley Project (made up mostly of Riley Project Veterans and three new 6th graders), Forte (new 5th & 6th graders), and Aria (4th graders).

For the 2005-06 season they decided to only have two guards on the competitive scene:  the High School Guard (7th-12th graders), the Riley Project (6th graders).  Turning the "Forte Guard" and the "Aria Guard" into a "training guard" (4th/5th graders).  The High School Guard (a.k.a. the "Big Kid" Guard) competed in the IHSCGA and went to a couple of WGI competitions.  The Riley Project stayed with the IHSCGA.

During the 2006-07 season the New Castle Guard program, once again, had three guards.  This year all the guards stayed in the IHSCGA circuit.

German Club

German Club members come together one a week to watch moives in German, with English subtitles (letting them learn while being entertained). They aslo take a field trip once a year to the -*-, witch alows them to better understand the culture. This fun, active group has many members and is sure to grow over the years.
